The story: Sweet love song, with a sea shanty feel, about lovers dying one just after the other. Based on the traditional sailor’s tattoo imagery of the swallow being a metaphor for safe passage. Although it is about death, it is a sweet song of devotion that anticipates being reunited as opposed to mourning loss.
